Where has Diet Pro gone?

The Diet Pro forum has disappeard. Has this program been discontinued or what? I posted a question on the Living Cookbook forum a few days ago because there is no DP forum any more. Got 0 responses. Does anybody know what is going on with DP? Or, does anybody know how to contact the developer to get info?

Geoff or Lee will be responding soon I'm sure. But much to my dismay, Lee has decided to not have the Diet Pro forum available until after the new release which hasn't been deteremined.

Very disappointing

I just came by the forum to see if there was anything new up about when DietPro might be updated, and it's very disappointing to find that the forum for it has disappeared. I feel a bit trapped - at this point, with no inkling of when an update might come out, I might consider moving to another program, but I have so much here in the way of database entries for the foods I eat, years of daily food intake logged, recipes, etc., that I don't have any way to move over to a new program - and I don't want to lose all that. I'd be happiest with an updated version of DietPro! Lee, what's up with this? Any thoughts about if or when that might happen?

Take a read through some of the postings in the LC forums. Lee (and Geoff) have said that there is a new version of Diet pro on the books, but there is no release date for it. I've requested that the DP forums be put back or at least a message about that on the main forums listing page, but Lee has his reasons for not doing it. Geoff and Lee have been very helpful with posts regarding Diet Pro in the LC Forums...

Hi selene,

Scaling back the focus on the old Diet Pro version (which, let me be clear, is still fully supported- email us anytime at customerassistance@radiumtechnologies.com) is necessary as we need to concentrate on the coming year's releases. 2010 and 2011 look to be very big years for Radium Technologies, Lee is finishing up a very exciting project now which is about to enter testing and which we hope to release in the next few months. Following that, we'll be able to focus completely on finishing development and testing for the new Living Cookbook revision, which we also intend to release later this year. After that has been completed, Diet Pro will be next. We'll relaunch the Diet Pro forum and give the new version the attention and resources it deserves at that time.

I hate to ask so much of your patience, but I think you'll be pleased with what you see from us in the coming year!

Let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers,

Geoff

Beta testing

Can you put me on the list for beta testing the new version of Diet Pro. I have lots of free time and have done testing the past.

Thanks!

Me too on beta testing

I'd also be glad to do some beta testing. I have an amazing ability to get things to crash

Nice software

I am a new user of Diet Pro. I have a program I am currently using, but it is limited and was looking around. I decided to give DP a try (even with all the bad links on the website) and have found that I really like the software.

I'm looking forward to the new release, since there isn't really much sense in registering for a version that no longer has forum support, then have to re-register the software once a new release is available.

Also, it would be nice if a "family" license was available in the future. This would be installed on all the computers in our household, which would be 4, which at current pricing would be a bit on the pricey side. Most diet programs restrict the profiles, not the computers.

Hi there,

To begin, thanks for your order! I'm glad that you like Diet Pro, please let me know if I can be of assistance going forward.

To which broken links were you referring? Our developer would be happy to take a look and clean them up.

I'm a little confused by your statement that Diet Pro has no forum support, as this is a forum. Feel free to request any licensing help that you may need on the Licensing forum as well, and some of our Diet Pro users post in the Living Cookbook 2005 forum, as LC05 was designed on essentially the same platform and as such behaves similarly.

You can also contact us by email at customerassistance@radiumtechnologies.com, or submit a support ticket at www.livingcookbook.com.

We take customer feedback very seriously, and we will keep your site license suggestion in mind as we establish a pricing scale for subsequent versions of Diet Pro.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Geoff

Hi Geoff,

Had a new feature request for DietPro, and once again I'm a bit frustrated even trying to figure out where to post this kind of thing, as it's hard to find DietPro in the forums anymore.

I'd love to see a way to turn a recipe into an ingredient! For example, I've just started making my own yogurt again after many years of buying it. Would love to just click on an action or something to make my recipe an ingredient that I could just add in my daily food intake profile by gram or cup, rather than have to calculate what proportion of a serving I've had. Or having to enter the information by hand to create an ingredient (which is what I've done before for recipes I make a lot).

Still hoping to see a new DietPro sometime soon, though sometimes this feels like just a dream!

Hi Selene,

This is already a feature of Diet Pro. Try this:

1) Right click a recipe in the list view and choose Edit Recipe.

2) Click the Ingredients tab.

3) Click Add, and enter the name of the recipe that you would like to list as an ingredient.

4) With the new recipe-as-ingredient selected, click the Link button.

5) Click Search Recipes, and type in the name of the recipe.

6) Select the recipe from the search results. Confirm the serving amounts.

7) Click OK.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance, or if you have questions.

Geoff
